I am John (Most people call me Just-John) and have done, carpentry, painting, plumbing, roofing, computer repair and now maintain a large telephone system for an oil refinery. The most fun I have ever had was the 22 years in the United States Marine Corps.
I have been involved with the Internet since 1995. I worked with Okinawa OnLine on Okinawa, Japan and we brought the first commercial internet to the island for Armed Forces personnel. This was back when a 128k fractional T1 cost $8,000 a month. Yea, times have surely changed over the years.
I have bought all kinds of software trying to make the quick dollar. But it has never happened. The only way to really make any money on the Internet is to really build a business and quite following the Quick Rich (QR) schemes.
I use DokuWiki from doku

I did not think the USMC could be that tough. It was in some ways but in a lot of ways it was a lot easier. Once I got married and had a couple rug-rats, I decided to stick it out and see the world. And boy did I.
While serving for 22 years I got to visit:
One of the best times I had was in Japan. I went there for a year by myself right after joining. Later on I had the privilege of taking my family over there. We stayed six years and man it was a blast.
After retiring, I tried working on computers but hated it. I got into maintaining PBX’s and telephones and really enjoy it. Looks like big PBX’s are going bye-bye so it’s time to move on and do something else.
I’ve got a mother, wife and four wonderful children, two grand-daughters, two grand-sons and a son-in-law and daughter-in-law. I am so blessed by all these wonderful people. Great people make a great man. (Or so I like to think.) I enjoy hearing from people so hit that contact page and let me hear from y’all.
